For Parents
Centre Policies
Centre Policies are available in the parent handbook which you will receive upon enrolment.
Health
We cannot accept the responsibility for sick children and parents are asked to keep their child at home. If a child falls sick during hours of operation we will contact parents and care for the child until the parents arrive. In the event of a serious illness or accident the child will be taken to the nearest hospital, a staff member will escort the child. Parents are notified of all cases of infectious diseases. Children who have not received the relevant immunisation or are not up to date with relevant immunisations will be excluded from the service under the NSW Public Health Act 2010.
Food
Toxteth Kindergarten has a nutritionally balanced and diverse menu consisting of breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and supper. Meals are multicultural and we cater for any specific diets. Our menu is Munch and Move approved. Please feel free to discuss any dietary requirements upon enrolment. Parents are asked to contribute a piece of fruit each day.

Excursions
Excursions are often organised, most of which are paid for by the kindergarten. Parents will be asked to contribute a small amount towards any excursions which require a bus fee. Parents are asked to attend on the day to ensure excursion ratios are met. We often visit parts of our community and have built strong relationships with the retailers within Annandale.
Family Involvement
Families are highly encouraged to become involved in the shaping of the centre by joining the Management Committee and participating in fundraising, social nights and other events. We always welcome family visits to the centre, such as parent visits to talk to the children about their jobs, participate In cooking experience as well as sharing their culture with us.
Settling Children
Families are encouraged to stay with their child for as long as they feel desirable. Staff are happy to discuss any separation anxiety and support you and your child during this process.
Child Grouping
Children will spend most of the day in one large open room, however, are divided into three age groups for age appropriate learning experiences, specifically group time, throughout each day. Each group has at least one full-time teacher for the days your child is enrolled.
